The Back Porch Restaurant was named the Mon Valley Regional Chamber of Commerce Member Spotlight for July. Opened in 1975, the restaurant has become a landmark of the Mid Mon Valley, and is frequented by diners throughout the Pittsburgh region. It is housed within a farmhouse built in 1806 that was extensively renovated by Joseph Pappalardo in the 1970’s. Known for its quaint atmosphere and outstanding cuisine, the Back Porch continues to enjoy success after 35 years in business.
Located at 114 Speers Street in Lower Speers on the Monongahela River, the restaurant is open six days a week and is an excellent venue for meetings and family gatherings. The Pappalardo family has been good friends to the community and the Back Porch has belonged to the Chamber for 28 years. They were selected for the Chamber’s “Excellence in Business” award in 2003.
