The Mon Valley Regional Chamber is pleased to honor the American Cancer Society in the Member Spotlight for April. The American Cancer Society is celebrating its 100th birthday this year. That’s right, a century of saving lives and now it’s time to finish the fight against cancer. They encourage you, your colleagues and your business to join them this year in this fight.
The Mon Valley area has two unique ways to get involved. The first is the Relay For Life of Mon Valley. If you have not been to this wonderful event please make plans to attend this year. The event will be held on Friday May 3, 2013 from 10 am – 10 pm at the Charleroi High School Stadium. Please visit www.relayforlife.org/pamonvalley for more information.
The second is through the Cancer Prevention Study-3 (CPS-3). This is a unique opportunity for individuals to get involved in an ongoing research program. Enrollment is being made possible in partnership with the Monongahela Valley Hospital on Thursday, June 6, from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm. Individuals may choose to participate if they are willing to make a long-term commitment to the study, are between the ages of 30 and 65 years old and have never been diagnosed with cancer.
For more information and to make an appointment at this, or one of the many other enrollment sites in the region, visit greaterpittsburghcps3.org or call 1-888-604-5888.
