Harry P. and Bernice Roberts bought the North Charleroi Dairy Queen 45 years ago and it has remained in the same location and in their family since, now owned by granddaughters Christine Roberts and Jennifer Roberts Seaton. Their dad Jim Roberts still helps out at the business but is officially “retired.” Over the years, many updates have been made to this Mon Valley landmark, however it holds many precious memories of ice cream, family fun and part time jobs to thousands.
Today, about 15-20 part- and full-time employees work at the Dairy Queen in the winter and 35 during the summer months, and have tasty food items in addition to the frozen treats they are famous for. The ice cream cakes are a hands down favorite of Valley residents.
The MVRCC is so proud to honor Roberts Dairy Queen, for their continuous support of the Chamber and to the communities they serve. The Roberts family is known for their kindness and generosity and it is especially fitting that they are honored in April, during the Chamber’s 90th year. The facility is located at 22 Route 88, North Charleroi, and they can be contacted at 724-489-9222.
